How I passed the MB-800 - Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant exam

I recently completed the assigned core modules and training sessions for the Reskill program with Microsoft, which provided me with invaluable training modules and resources.  The next step was to study and take the MB-800 certification exam.  As part of the Reskill program, we're given access to Measure Up practice tests for one month, along with a one-time use code to take the certification exam.  After that, any subsequent certification attempts are paid for out of pocket.

After working through a couple of practice tests, I realized that I would need to pull on the practical application of the Reskill training and the Microsoft Learn terms and specific steps to ensure I am using the accurate terminology in Business Central to pass the certification.  The Measure Up practice tests have a link to Microsoft Learn and other outside resources that go more in depth with the concepts in the question.

Additionally, I had a client that I routinely worked with.  This allowed me to apply my knowledge in real-world scenarios, further reinforcing the concepts I was learning.  I was also involved in an ongoing implementation project, which provided me with more hands-on experience to reiterate the concepts from my Reskill training.

Once I felt confident that I understood the concepts and could comfortably navigate Business Central, I scheduled my certification exam. Thanks to the practical application training through Reskill, paired with the knowledge from Microsoft Learn, I was able to pass the exam on my first try!

If you’re aiming for your certification but don’t have access to the Reskill program, I highly recommend leveraging Microsoft Learn’s modules and practicing with Measure Up practice exams. The resources will help prepare you for the certification exam.

If you have any questions or would like support on your own certification journey, feel free to reach out!
